Our newly minted officers and directors for 2009-2010 were sworn in at our
60th Annual Installation Dinner at the Douglaston Manor. Food and drink flowed
as our members and honored guests mingled during the cocktail hour and dinner. We all enjoyed
a great evening.
Past president Hon. Charles Lopresto awarded a plaque to outgoing president
Bill Marsala for his distinguished service to the Association, which was followed by
the installation of the officers and directors who will serve for the 2009-2010 term.
New president Peter Carrozzo
addressed the gathering, thanking the former president, officers and committee
members for their generous help and support, and roused us all for the
coming year's activities. Good luck Peter!

as the President of the Queens County Womens' Bar Association on June 16, 2009 at

Our Judiciary Night boasted more than 350 attendees, including more than 100 judges, in
honor of Hon. Joseph Golia, Justice of the Supreme Court of the State of New York, Appellate Term 2nd & 11th
Judicial Districts, and posthumously honoring our past president and former member,
Justice Thomas V. Polizzi.
Judges from the federal bench, the Appellate Division 2nd Dept., Supreme Court, the Queens County
Surrogate, Family Court, New York City Civil and Criminal Courts, and Housing Court gathered with
members of the bar in the best and most well attended Judiciary Night in Queens County. Justice Golia
received numerous proclaimations, acclaimations and commendations from our Assocation and officials of
Federal, State, City and local governments.
To postumously honor our dear friend and past president, Justice Thomas Polizzi, our Association
presented Mrs. Polizzi with a monetary donation to St. John's University in his honor.
Bernard Ferrera, Esq. made the presentation following a touching eulogy of Judge Polizzi.
Our annual Judiciary Night is our premiere networking event for our members, friends and guests.
We invite the entire judiciary serving Queens County, including the Judges of the
Eastern District of New York, the New York State Administrative Judges, and the Justices of the
Appellate Division 2nd Department, as our complimentary guests. We could not run such a successful
event without this year's dinner sponsors: Malillo & Grossman, Esqs.; and cocktail hour
sponsors: Michael Cervini, Esq. & John Gemelli, Esq.; and the talent and hard work of our committee chairpersons, Richard Piccola, Esq.,
and Bernard Ferrera, Esq., and their committee: Joseph Mattone, Jr., Esq., Annmarie Barbagallo, Esq.,
Claudia Lanzetta, Esq., and Gerald Chiariello, II, Esq. Thank you all for a job well done!
March 18, 2009
Missed our annual St. Joseph's Night celebration? Not only the "Josephs" came out
for our St. Joseph's Night, but Castel Mare Restaurant hosted a good turn out of our
regular members and guests including Supreme Court Justice Joseph Golia, Family
Court Judge Margaret Parisi-McGowan, Civil Court Judges Joseph Esposito and
William Viscovitch, and our County Clerk Gloria D'Amico. The lively conversation
complemented the good food and good company which was topped-off when
Claudia Lanzetta provided the delicious St. Joseph pastries. Thanks Claudia!
And, thanks to our treasurer, Ann Barbagallo, for planning such a pleasant evening.
